Chelsea Shorte describes herself as a comedian, storyteller, writer, and “regular gay”. When asked for a biography of her life she says, “I love to go out and party. I love to look good. I don’t hold back on shoes or eccentric blazers. And I love having fun and bringing happiness where ever I go.”
Originally from Richmond, VA, Chelsea discovered comedy as a way to stave off the boredom of being a beautiful twenty-something. Since first taking the stage as a stand up in early 2011, she has flourished and has further applied her creative drive to storytelling, podcasting, sketch writing, acting, and drag performance. She has had the privilege of performing at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington DC’s historic Howard Theater, as well as multiple colleges and comedy venues across the country. Her stand up material ranges from riffs on the low bar for allyship to dating or even pythons in the Everglades.
