Elizabeth Bathory

Episode 116 – Queer History: The Story of Serial Killer Elizabeth Báthory

This month’s queer history gets us in the Halloween spirit. Jade shares the spooky story of Elizabeth Báthory, a noted bisexual/queer and mass murderer. (It should be noted, we are not promoting bisexual stereotypes or calling bisexuals evil. However, it is important we don’t erase people’s identities).

Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed was a Hungarian noblewoman and alleged serial killer from the noble family of Báthory, who owned land in the Kingdom of Hungary. She has been labeled by Guinness World Records as the most prolific female murderer, though the precise number of her victims is debated.
